H.A.B.E.S.H.A is an acronym for Helping Africa By Establishing Schools at Home and Abroad. Black to Our Roots is a part of that program. Throughout the year, youth participate in workshops and events to prepare themselves both mentally and physically to travel to Africa. This year, we will be traveling to Ghana and Ethiopia. In order to travel, youth are required to raise about $4,000. Help us raise money by participating in our 1K for $10K fundraiser!

Thank you! :) I wash my hair about once a week with Shea moisture curl & shine shampoo or a shampoo bar. I use their restorative conditioner sometimes & I use Argan oil leave-in conditioner. I moisturize with coconut oil or almond oil a couple times a week. oh yeah, I almost always do twist outs.

I love her. So much. Come hither lol

One of the most annoying things that came from that KONY 2012 documentary is the quote “Where you live should not determine whether you live.” The quote alone isn’t annoying, it’s one of those “well duh” statements, everyone agrees with it right? What’s annoying is the fact that people took it and ran with it and continuously associate it with Africa. “Where you live should not determine whether you live” plastered on the continent of Africa with a cheesy heart off the the right. Why don’t you put that quote on a picture of the fucking globe because it applies to everyone everywhere. It’s not an “African” problem so please stop acting as if it is. Stop associating Africa with poverty, death, and disease as if that’s the only thing that an entire fucking continent encompasses. The fact that people have to constantly address such an ignorant perception of Africa is depressing. Your cheesy ass photos with their stupid ass quotes are repulsive. Your stupidity is repulsive. Your arrogance is repulsive. Your attempt at awareness is repulsive. You’re a fucking repulsive muhfuckah. I can’t even really put my finger on why this irks me so much.
